About
We rebuild the platforms institutions run on — redesigns, migrations, and portals — deployed alongside your team. We show up, learn your world, and build inside it.
The Problem
The organizations that need modern platforms the most — institutions, governments, nonprofits, universities, foundations — are the ones stuck on aging sites, legacy CMSes, and archives buried in thousands of PDFs. The work is too big to do in-house and too important to hand to an agency that rebuilds from scratch and walks away.
The site is slow, hard to update, and locked to a CMS nobody wants to maintain. Every year it drifts further from what your organization actually needs.
Member files, board minutes, donor history, archives — thousands of documents your team can't find in the moment they need them.
SMG works the other way. We come in beside your team, migrate cleanly with your traffic intact, and hand you a platform you own — built to still stand five years from now.
Learn
We read your world before touching any tool. Every engagement starts with a deep briefing. How your platform is used. What your team maintains. Where your records live. What your audience needs. No assumptions.
Redesign, Migrate, Build
We rebuild what your organization runs on — not what's on the shelf. Redesigns and device optimization. Migrations off Drupal, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, and Google Sites onto an open CMS, with clean 301s and AI-search built in. Member, donor, board, and staff portals with decades of PDFs searchable in seconds. Modern, accessible, engineered to scale — and yours to own.
Transfer
Your team owns it. We don't fish for you. Every deliverable includes a Loom walkthrough. You learn the system. You run it. We're available if you need us. Not a dependency.
Trust Capital
Platforms are built in code. Trust is built in the room. Every SMG engagement closes with in-person implementation. Your team meets the new platform directly. Workflows get stress-tested, questions get answered in real time, and your people walk out owning the system, not waiting on it.
SMG takes on a limited number of engagements at a time.

SMG Ops grows out of Smartmoney Group LLC, established in 2008. We built websites, ran events, worked in nightlife and fashion. Life moved on, the company went dormant. We came back to it in 2026 with a clearer focus and a different set of tools.
Our background is enterprise UX and systems design, going back to the early 2000s.
Bandujo · New York City · 2004–2013
We got our start at Bandujo, a design agency in New York City. We designed the Bank of Tokyo website. We built ATM screens for Chase, including work on a billboard at Madison Square Garden that is still up today. We designed ATM experiences for the New York Knicks and worked inside Chase Private Client with JP Morgan Chase.
Home Depot · 2015–2016
At Home Depot we were part of the team that built Track Your Order and My Account. That work contributed to their Internet Retailer of the Year recognition in 2015, and the UX architecture from that project is still running on every Home Depot site globally. Baymard Institute later used our designs and patterns as the reference examples in two published research articles — one on integrating order tracking into e-commerce self-service, and one on cancellation-requested order state handling.
Primerica · 2016
We designed the iOS mobile experience for Primerica, including Touch ID and PIN code authentication flows.
IHG · 2017–2018
At IHG we contributed to the GRS system and a large portion of their enterprise design system.
Camping World / Good Sam · 2020–2023
At Camping World we worked on Marcus Lemonis's personal page and RV rentals during a period when the company scaled from roughly $500 million toward $1.5 billion. We were on the UX team that helped rock that boom, and the results reflect it.
We come in beside your team and the AI tools you already use — Base44, Lovable, Bolt, Claude, ChatGPT — and rebuild the websites, portals, and archives your organization runs on. Not as a consultant who ships a deck. As a team that shows up, learns your world, and builds inside it — then hands you ownership when the work is done.
Redesigns and device optimization. Migrations off Drupal, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, and Google Sites onto an open CMS, with clean 301s and AI-search built in. Member, donor, board, and staff portals — decades of PDFs searchable in seconds, behind role-based access. Modern, accessible, engineered to scale. Built to still stand five years from now.
SMG takes on a small number of engagements at a time. The work is too hands-on for volume. If your platform has to hold up over time and you need a team that will be in the room — reach out.
The frontier labs and the open-source models are both moving fast, and that is good for you. We do not bet the platform on any one of them. We build the harness around them — the agentic systems, the data, and the access controls that live inside your organization and put whatever model is best to work on your behalf.
When Anthropic, OpenAI, or an open model like DeepSeek ships something stronger next quarter, your platform gets better with it. You own the layer that lasts. The model underneath stays swappable. That is how a platform stays modern instead of aging the day it launches.
Institutions, governments, nonprofits, universities, and foundations — organizations with real websites, archives, and teams whose platforms must hold up over time. People who need the work built right, migrated cleanly, and handed back to them to own.
SMG takes on a limited number of active engagements at a time. Not every inquiry converts. If your platform matters and the work is real, reach out.
